Homemade Quesarito: Like Taco Bell, But Better 🔥🧀🌯
Let’s be real—Taco Bell’s Quesarito is elite. It’s cheesy, beefy, saucy perfection all wrapped up in a toasty burrito. But what if I told you that you could make an even better version at home? Yep, we’re talking about a homemade Quesarito that’s so good, you’ll be side-eyeing the drive-thru forever.
What Is a Quesarito, Anyway?
If you’ve never had a Quesarito (first of all, I’m sorry), imagine a burrito and a quesadilla having a very delicious love child. It’s basically a beefy burrito with rice, sour cream, and Taco Bell’s iconic Spicy Ranchero sauce, but the tortilla is wrapped in a layer of melty, golden cheese like a built-in quesadilla blanket. Yeah, it’s that good.

Why Make It at Home?
Because you deserve greatness. And also:
- More Cheese, More Control – No skimping on the good stuff. You control the cheese pull.
- Better Quality Ingredients – No mystery meat here, just real ground beef seasoned to perfection.
- Customizable Heat Levels – Keep it mild or go all-in with spicy sauce and extra jalapeños.
Fun Fact: Taco Bell Almost Didn’t Have a Quesarito
When Taco Bell first tested the Quesarito in 2014, it wasn’t an instant hit. But then they launched it nationwide, and boom—it became a fan favorite. And now, here we are, recreating the magic at home.
So grab your tortillas, melt that cheese, and get ready to level up your homemade Taco Bell game. Because once you’ve made a Quesarito from scratch, there’s no going back. 🌯🔥
Homemade Quesaritos

Ingredients
- 1 Box of Mexican Rice
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 1/2 Cup Water
- 1 oz Taco Seasoning I love Taco Bell Seasoning
- 8 Burrito-Sized Flour Tortillas
- 8 oz Grated Sharp Cheddar Cheese
- Taco Bell Brand Spicy Ranchero Sauce
- Sour Cream
Cheese Sauce
- 12 oz Evaporated Milk
- 7 oz Can of Diced Chilies
- 8 oz Grated Pepper Jack Cheese
- 16 oz Velveeta Cheese
Instructions
- Step 1: Cook the Rice: Follow the instructions on the package to cook your rice. Set it aside once it’s done.
- Step 2: Prepare the Beef: While the rice is cooking, brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Once fully cooked, drain any excess grease. Stir in the taco seasoning and water, then let it simmer until the sauce thickens and coats the meat.
- Step 3: Make the Cheese Sauce: In a small saucepan over low heat, combine all the cheese sauce ingredients. Stir continuously until everything is melted and smooth. Let it sit for about 10 minutes so it can thicken up.
- Step 4: Make the Quesadilla Shells: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Place one tortilla in the skillet and sprinkle a generous layer of shredded cheese on top. Place a second tortilla on top, then carefully flip it over. Let it cook just long enough for the cheese to melt—if it gets too crispy, rolling it later will be tricky. Repeat until you have 4 cheesy quesadilla shells.
- Step 5: Assemble the Quesaritos: Spread sour cream and Spicy Ranchero Sauce over each quesadilla shell. Add a scoop of taco meat, a drizzle of cheese sauce, and a spoonful of rice. Carefully roll them up into burritos, making sure everything stays snug inside. Now, take a bite and enjoy that cheesy, saucy perfection!
