Queso Drowned Air Fryer Taquitos (aka What Dreams Are Made Of)
Let’s set the scene: crispy air fryer taquitos — golden, crunchy, and filled with all your fave things — served upright in a cup of warm, melty queso like it’s the world’s most delicious hot tub situation. Yes, we’re dunking taquitos straight into a pool of cheese and calling it dinner. You in?
I got a new air fryer, and I am seriously IN LOVE! I have gone through several over the years and honestly have just lived without one because I couldn’t find one I loved. This one (the TurboBlaze™ 6.0-Quart Air Fryer) from Cosori is my new obsession! Use discount code KRISTIN10 to save some MONEY! (10%)
Also, quick side note: COSORI sent me one of their newest air fryers to test out, and I was not ready for how ridiculously crispy these turned out. Like—perfect crunch on the outside, warm and cheesy on the inside, no flipping required. It’s giving restaurant vibes with stay-at-home effort.
This recipe is giving “convenience meets chaos,” in the best way. Perfectly portable, dangerously dippable, and a total flex for game day, snack night, or feeding your people when you forgot to plan dinner. The air fryer makes them crispier than your ex’s texts and the queso? It’s the main character — cozy, creamy, and hiding at the bottom like a gooey surprise ending.
Fun Food Fact:
Queso literally means cheese in Spanish, but in Tex-Mex world, it’s more of a lifestyle. There are memes about queso. People tattoo queso. We don’t mess around.
So go ahead — fill those cups with cheese, stand up your taquitos like little edible soldiers, and let everyone dunk, swirl, and devour. Zero utensils. Maximum vibes.

Queso Drowned Air Fryer Taquitos

Ingredients
BEST Party Queso Recipe:
- 9 Oz Chorizo
- 1 can Diced Tomatoes w/green chilis
- 1/2 cup of your favorite salsa
- 16 oz. Velveeta
- 1/4 C whole whipping cream
Tacos:
- 1.25 LB Ground Beef
- 1 Packet of Taco Seasoning
- ¾ Cup Water
- 20 Corn Tortillas
Toppings:
- Sour Cream
- Guacamole
- Salsa
Instructions
Queso Instructions:
- Heat a large pot. Cook the meat: Brown the chorizo and drain any excess grease (I use a mesh strainer for this).
- Combine ingredients: Mix the cooked chorizo with the remaining ingredients in your pot.
- Allow to simmer, stirring frequently to melt cheese.
Tacos:
- Prepare your taco filling: Brown your ground beef. Once cooked through, add your taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 5-10 minutes.
- Heat the tortillas in the microwave until soft and pliable. Place a tortilla flat on a surface and brush generously with oil. Then flip over. Add some queso, then taco filling.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400. Roll the tortilla tightly into a tube-like shape. Place it seam-side down or secure it with a toothpick. Repeat until all tortillas and filling are used.
- Place in your preheated air fryer at 400. Air Fry for 6-7 minutes.
- Place queso and other toppings at the bottom of your cup. Lastly, add in the tacos. Enjoy
