Honey Garlic Glazed Chicken Skewers
Honey Garlic Glazed Chicken Skewers. AKA: Chicken on a Stick But Make It Saucy.
This is my quintessential summer dinner. Like, if summer had a flavor, it might just be this: sticky-sweet, garlicky chicken skewers hot off the grill, baked beans on the side, and a scoop of cold pasta salad because balance. You’ve got sunshine on your plate, and the only thing missing is a glass of sweet tea and a bug zapper in the distance.
Let’s talk skewers.
They’re fun. They’re portable. They make you feel like you’re at a backyard BBQ even if you’re just standing over your stove in slippers. And these Honey Garlic Glazed Chicken Skewers? They’re elite.
This recipe is giving:
✨ Sweet meets savory
✨ Garlic in all its glory
✨ A subtle kick from red pepper flakes
✨ And yes—Parmesan in the marinade because we don’t follow the rules, we write them.
Why skewers are kind of a big deal:
Fun fact: humans have been cooking meat on sticks for literally thousands of years. You’re not just grilling dinner—you’re joining an ancient tradition. Only now there’s honey and garlic involved, and we’re not using twigs from the backyard.
The marinade:
This one is it. Garlicky, a little sweet, a little spicy, and full of flavor. The paprika gives it warmth, the honey adds that perfect stickiness, and the Parmesan just… makes it magic. Let the chicken soak it up while you toss together a pasta salad or crack open a can of baked beans (zero shame).
Thread it onto skewers, grill or roast, and you’ve got a meal that tastes like summer in under 30 minutes of actual effort.
What to serve it with:
- Baked beans + pasta salad (highly recommend—trust me on this)
- Corn on the cob and a cold beer
- Garlic bread and a cucumber salad
- Or just eat the skewers straight off the stick like a summer popsicle (a hot, delicious one)
Bottom line: this recipe is easy, crowd-pleasing, and tastes like something you’d get at a backyard cookout where someone’s uncle is playing country music and manning the grill in flip flops. Highly recommend.
Honey Garlic Glazed Chicken Skewers

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 LBS Chicken Breast
- Wooden Skewers soaked in water for 30-60 minutes
Marinade:
- 1/4 C Avocado Oil
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- 1/4 cup Parmesan
- 2 teaspoons of garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon of oregano
- 1 1/2 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- Salt & Pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix avocado oil, Parmesan, lemon juice, honey, minced garlic, paprika, garlic powder, oregano, salt, red pepper flakes, and black pepper. Stir everything together and add the chicken. Stir until it is well coated in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or let it hang out overnight for max flavor.
- Preheat oven to 400 (or get your grill preheated). Once the chicken is marinated, thread 4–5 pieces onto each skewer. Pro tip: I like to alternate with sliced onion, it really amps up the flavor!
Oven Method:
- Place the skewers in a single layer on your cookie sheet. Don’t overcrowd. Bake at 400°F for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. Sometimes I do a minute of broil just to brown it up nicely.
- While the chicken is cooking, melt butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Add garlic and let it sizzle for about a minute. Remove from heat, then stir in honey, Parmesan, and parsley until it’s all melted and magical.
- Brush that glorious honey garlic butter all over your cooked skewers and serve immediately. Get ready for compliments.
On The Grill:
- Grill over medium-high heat for 8-10 minutes per side, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Brush the grilled chicken with the garlic butter and serve.
Air Fryer:
- Place the skewers in a single layer in your air fryer basket. Don’t overcrowd—work in batches if you need to. Air fry at 400°F for 11–12 minutes, flipping halfway through. The chicken is done when it hits 165°F internally and has a little golden crisp on the edges. Brush the grilled chicken with the garlic butter and serve.
