Homemade Ranch

Jump to Recipe. Calling all football fans and ranch dressing addicts (especially those of you from Iowa, we see you )! Draft Day is upon us, and what's a football feast without the perfect dip? Skip the store-bought bottles this year and whip up some homemade ranch dressing that'll leave your tastebuds cheering.

This recipe is a secret weapon passed down through Iowa kitchens, and it's about to become your new go-to. The key ingredient? Hidden Valley Restaurant Style packets. Trust us, it adds a magic touch that plain ranch seasoning just can't replicate.

Here's what you'll need (double it for a party):

  • ½ cup mayonnaise

  • ž cup buttermilk

  • 1 packet Hidden Valley Restaurant Style Ranch (0.4 oz)

  • Âź teaspoon dried dill

The Steps:

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, buttermilk, and Hidden Valley packet.

  2. Stir in the dried dill until well combined.

  3. Taste and adjust seasonings to your liking. (You can add a pinch of garlic powder or onion powder for extra flavor.)

  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes for the flavors to meld. (But really, who can wait that long?)

Pro Tip: Date your ranch dressing and store it in the fridge for up to a week. That creamy goodness will be the MVP of your wings, veggies, or anything else you can dream up to dip!

So ditch the boring bottled stuff and whip up this Iowa-approved ranch. Your tastebuds (and football party) will thank you!
