Last Minute Easy Fudge

It’s that time of year again! The time when we pull out our rubber spatulas and baking supplies to whip up some delicious treats for friends and neighbors. This year, I’m sharing my favorite super easy fudge recipe that comes together in just minutes!

Whether you’re heading to a holiday party or just want to cozy up with a festive snack, this creamy, dreamy fudge will have you looking like a holiday pro. And the best part? You can customize it to your heart’s desire. Are you a fan of nuts in your chocolate fudge? I am! I love the sweet and nutty combination of walnuts, but if nuts aren’t your thing, just leave them out for a simple and delicious chocolate fudge.

Why You’ll Love This Fudge:

No Fancy Equipment: Forget candy thermometers and endless stirring. This fudge is so simple, even first-timers can nail it.

Customizable: Add a sprinkle of holiday cheer with your favorite toppings—think crushed candy canes, festive sprinkles, or even a drizzle of caramel.

Last-Minute Approved: Perfect for when you need a dessert ASAP but still want to impress.

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • 1 12 oz bag chocolate chips

  • 12 oz. German's sweet chocolate, broken into small pieces

  • 2 cups marshmallow cream

  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk

  • 4 1/2 cups sugar

  • Pinch of salt

  • 2 Tbsp. butter

  • Optional toppings: crushed peppermint, sea salt, holiday sprinkles, chopped nuts (walnuts are my personal favorite!)

How to Make It:

  1. Prep Your Pan: Butter a 9x13-inch baking dish or mist it with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.

  2. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the semisweet chocolate, German’s chocolate, and marshmallow cream. Set aside.

  3. Boil Sugar and Milk: In a medium saucepan, mix the sugar, salt, butter, and evaporated milk. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Boil for 1 minute, then reduce the heat and simmer for 7 minutes, stirring continuously.

  4. Combine and Stir: Pour the hot syrup over the chocolate mixture and stir until smooth.

  5. Pour and Cool: Pour the fudge into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Let it stand undisturbed at room temperature until firm, preferably overnight.

  6. Slice and Serve: Once firm, cut the fudge into small squares. Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks. For those who prefer a firmer texture, chill the fudge after cutting.

Topping Inspiration:

– Crushed candy canes for a peppermint twist – A sprinkle of flaky sea salt for that sweet-salty vibe – Mini marshmallows and a drizzle of chocolate syrup for a hot cocoa-inspired fudge – Festive sprinkles for an easy pop of color

How to Store Fudge:

I’ve found that this fudge has its best texture when stored in an airtight container in the fridge. The cool temperature keeps it firm and creamy. If you leave it out on the counter, it will soften slightly, which is still delicious but a little different in texture.

Why It Works:

The combination of sugar, butter, and chocolate creates a rich, velvety base that sets beautifully without complicated techniques. It’s practically foolproof—exactly what we all need during the holiday hustle. ✨☃️❤️
