If you haven’t experienced the magic of a batch of baked beans done right, it’s time to make some KB’s Best Ever Baked Beans. Let me tell you, these aren’t your average, store-bought beans. These are the beans that will have your family fighting over the last scoop—trust me, I know from experience. 😜

I grew up in a house where baked beans were a staple, and honestly, my mom raised me right. She knew that no BBQ or family gathering was complete without that warm, saucy goodness bubbling away in the oven. That’s why I had to pass down my version of the recipe—it’s that good. And let me just say, this is the recipe that’s never left a single dish unlicked clean.

KB’s Best Ever Baked Beans

The Secret Ingredients

  • Two cans of baked beans: Yep, we’re starting with a shortcut—because sometimes you’ve got to work smarter, not harder. These beans are the base of all that goodness.
  • Onions: Just a small one (or half of a larger one) sautéed in butter—because we’re all about that flavor base, right?
  • Ketchup, yellow mustard, molasses, and brown sugar: This combo is what brings the classic sweet and tangy kick you know and love in baked beans. It’s like they were made to hang out together.
  • Bacon: I mean, come on. Is there ever a time when bacon doesn’t make everything better? Two slices, chopped up and nestled into the beans as they bake—crispy bacon bits, thank you very much.

Now, here’s where it gets real—you’re gonna throw this all in a baking dish, pop it in the oven, and let it bake for an hour and a half (longer if you double the recipe). The slow bake is what makes these beans next level. All the flavors meld together, and the bacon gets that perfect crispy finish, so every bite is pure magic.

Fun Fact: Did you know that molasses, one of the key ingredients in these beans, was once a primary sweetener before the rise of sugar? It’s packed with iron, calcium, and magnesium, which means you’re basically eating health food (okay, maybe not just health food, but it’s a fun fact, so let’s roll with it).

And here’s another pro tip: These beans are not just for BBQs or family cookouts. No, no, no. They’re perfect with everything—brisket, burgers, or just by themselves as a comfort meal. You might even want to make a double batch because leftovers? They hit different.

So, Why KB’s Best Ever Baked Beans?

Simple. It’s the love that’s been passed down through generations. It’s about bringing that classic, homestyle flavor with a twist. And honestly? These beans are so good that my family still asks for them at every gathering. It’s a tradition now, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Serve these up at your next meal, and I promise you’ll be the talk of the table. Baked beans never had it so good.

    1. Oh shoot! I forgot to put that in the ingredient list. Thank you for noting that! I have updated the recipe, I use 15 oz cans!

    1. I prefer to bake these in the oven because it really crisps the bacon and caramelizes the top! But, I am sure you could absolutely pop these in the slow cooker! Maybe just slightly cook the bacon first.

  1. Because I don’t cook much can you tell me will the molasses tell me on the label if it’s unsulfered?
