Instructions
Bread:
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2/3 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 apples, peeled and chopped, mixed with 2 tbsp. granulated sugar & 1 tsp. cinnamon
Old-Fashioned Glaze
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1-3 tbsp milk
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Combine brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Cream together butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
- Whisk together flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and baking powder in a separate bowl. Gradually incorporate into wet ingredients alternating with milk.
- Layer: Pour half the batter into prepared loaf pan. Top with half the apple mixture, then sprinkle with half the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture. Repeat layers.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool slightly before drizzling with powdered sugar glaze.
