This Easy Slow Cooker Chicken Pot Pie Pasta Is the Cozy Comfort Dinner Everyone Loves
You know that moment when you’re craving something really cozy for dinner… but the idea of actually making a full pot pie sounds like a lot?
Same.
Because classic chicken pot pie is amazing, but between the crust, the filling, and baking everything just right, it can turn into a whole project.
Which is exactly how this Slow Cooker Chicken Pot Pie Pasta was born.
It has all the things we love about pot pie — creamy chicken, cozy seasoning, and tender vegetables — but instead of dealing with pie crust, we stir in pasta and let the slow cooker do almost all the work.
The result is creamy, comforting, and ridiculously easy.
Basically the kind of dinner that makes everyone in the house ask:
“Wait… this was made in the slow cooker?”
The Cozy Shortcut Version of Chicken Pot Pie
Think of this recipe as the laid-back cousin of traditional chicken pot pie.
Instead of baking a pie crust and making a complicated filling, everything simmers together in the slow cooker until the chicken is tender and the sauce becomes rich and creamy.
Then at the end, you stir in cooked rotini pasta so it soaks up all that cozy pot pie flavor.
It’s like a mashup of:
- chicken pot pie
- creamy chicken pasta
- slow cooker comfort food
And honestly, it might be even better than the original.
A Quick Pot Pie Fun Fact
Chicken pot pie has been around way longer than most people realize.
Versions of meat pies filled with poultry and gravy date all the way back to medieval Europe, where savory pies were used as a way to stretch ingredients and feed large families.
So in a weird way, this recipe is kind of doing the same thing — just with pasta and a slow cooker instead of pastry.
Comfort food evolution at its finest.
Why This Recipe Works So Well
This dinner is one of those recipes that feels almost too easy for how good it turns out.
Here’s why it works.
The Slow Cooker Makes the Chicken Perfect
Cooking the chicken tenderloins low and slow keeps them incredibly tender and easy to shred.
The Creamy Sauce Builds Flavor
Cream of chicken soup creates that classic pot pie-style creamy base while the seasonings add that nostalgic comfort food flavor.
Pasta Makes It Extra Cozy
Instead of pie crust, rotini pasta soaks up all that creamy sauce, turning the whole dish into a hearty, satisfying dinner.
Frozen Vegetables Keep It Easy
No chopping required. Just toss them in and let the slow cooker take care of everything.
Ingredients You’ll Need
This recipe uses simple ingredients that come together into a super cozy dinner.
Slow Cooker Base
- Cream of chicken soup
- Mixed vegetables
- Chicken bouillon
- Kinder’s Cowboy Butter seasoning
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Poultry seasoning
- Black pepper
- Chicken tenderloins
To Finish
- Rotini pasta (or egg noodles)
Why Chicken Tenderloins Are Perfect Here
Chicken tenderloins are one of my favorite slow cooker shortcuts because they cook quickly and shred incredibly easily.
After a few hours in the slow cooker, they practically fall apart with a fork, which is exactly what you want for a creamy pot pie-style dish like this.
Once the chicken is shredded and stirred back into the sauce, adding the cooked pasta turns everything into a thick, cozy, pot-pie-meets-pasta situation.
And honestly… it’s the kind of dinner that disappears very quickly.
