Miso Steak Bite Bowls With Brown Rice: The Easy Dinner You Will Have on Repeat

Jump to Recipe

It’s dinnertime…  You’re starving and need something quick, satisfying, and totally delicious. Enter Miso Steak Bite Bowls with Brown Rice. This dish is the perfect blend of savory, nutty, and fresh, and let me tell you—it’s about to become your new favorite.

First off, let’s talk about the star of the bowl: brown rice. I’ve always loved its fluffy texture and subtle nuttiness, but cooking rice? Not my strong suit. That’s why I’m OBSESSED with Success Rice. It takes all the guesswork (and stress) out of cooking rice. Perfectly cooked, every single time? Yes, please.

Now, onto the miso dressing—aka the game changer. I stumbled upon miso paste at the store recently and thought, “This is it. This is the moment I finally make that miso dressing I’ve been dreaming about.” So, I grabbed my blender, tossed in roughly chopped shallots, minced ginger, garlic, miso paste, avocado oil, and honey, and let it do its thing. The result? A creamy, umami-packed sauce that I would 100% eat with a spoon.

I went with ribeye for the steak bites because it’s rich, juicy, and perfect for quick cooking. I diced it up into bite-sized pieces and tossed them into a hot wok. Pro tip: don’t overcrowd the pan—let each piece get that gorgeous golden-brown sear.

Then came the fun part: assembling the bowls! Fluffy brown rice forms the base, followed by those irresistible steak bites, a drizzle of that dreamy miso dressing, and whatever toppings you’re into. (Think sesame seeds, scallions, or even a handful of fresh greens for extra crunch.)

You guys, these bowls were SO good I legit could’ve eaten three. They’re cozy, flavorful, and come together in no time, which makes them perfect for busy weeknights or when you’re craving something special without the hassle.

So, what are you waiting for? Grab some miso paste and give these Miso Steak Bite Bowls a try. They’re everything you never knew you needed in a dinner. 😍🍚✨

Ingredients

Miso Dressing Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 shallot peeled and roughly chopped
  • 1 tablespoons ginger minced
  • 1/4 cup white miso paste
  • 2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 Bags of Success Brown Rice Depending on how much rice you want
  • Broccoli or any vegetable of choice
  • 1 pound steak ribeye and sirloin both work well; cut into 1.5-inch cubes

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dressing: Combine all the dressing ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth and creamy. Put in refrigerator.
  • Prep the Grains and Broccoli: Get your rice going by following the instructions on the box and chop up + rinse the broccoli before cooking the steak. The steak cooks quickly, so having everything ready to go is essential. If you prefer raw broccoli, skip the cooking step. For cooked broccoli, sauté it in the pan drippings after the steak is cooked––no additional seasoning is needed.
  • Season the Steak: Lightly season the steak with a small pinch of salt and plenty of black pepper. Since the miso dressing is salty, adjust the seasoning to suit your taste.
  • Cook the Steak Bites:
  • Heat a skillet over medium-high to high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of oil and 1 tablespoon of butter to the skillet.
  • Let the butter brown slightly, then stir in 1 teaspoon of dark soy sauce.
  • Add the steak bites in a single layer to the hot skillet. The meat should sizzle loudly when it hits the pan—if it doesn’t, the pan isn’t hot enough.
  • Let the steak cook undisturbed for 30 to 45 seconds to develop a nice sear. Flip the bites over with a spatula and cook for another 30 to 45 seconds to sear the other side. I always aim for a medium-rare interior.
  • Remove the steak bites and pan drippings from the skillet and set aside.
  • Cook the Broccoli (Optional): In the same skillet, sauté the broccoli in the leftover pan drippings for added flavor.
  • Assemble the Bowls: Scoop the cooked rice into a bowl, top with steak bites and broccoli, and drizzle generously with the miso dressing.
  • Serve and Enjoy: Grab a fork and dive into this flavorful bowl of goodness!
