Pickle Mary Shooters: The Easy Dill Pickle Bloody Mary Your Brunch Needs
If you’re a pickle person, you already know: once dill pickle flavor enters the chat, things get serious.
And if you’ve never had a Bloody Mary made with dill pickle vodka, buckle up. Because this little drink situation right here might become the most talked-about thing at your next brunch.
Meet the Pickle Mary Shooter. It’s bold, savory, briny, and ridiculously fun for March game day parties, brunch spreads, or anytime you want to serve something that makes people say “wait… what is THIS?”
The best part? It’s insanely easy to make.
Just a few ingredients, a quick shake, and suddenly you’ve got a perfectly chilled, pickle-forward Bloody Mary shooterthat people will absolutely be coming back for.
Why Dill Pickle Vodka Works So Well in a Bloody Mary
Bloody Marys are already known for their savory, salty, umami flavor profile. That’s exactly why pickle brine and dill flavors work so well with them.
In fact, the concept of adding pickle flavor to tomato-based cocktails has been popular in bars for years. The acidity from the pickle brightens the drink, while the dill and garlic notes make everything taste a little more complex.
So when you swap regular vodka for The Original Pickle Shot’s dill pickle vodka, you’re basically upgrading the entire drink in one move.
It’s briny.
It’s punchy.
And it’s honestly just really fun.
The Secret Ingredient: The Original Pickle Shot
For this recipe I use The Original Pickle Shot dill pickle vodka, and it is hands down my favorite for anything pickle-forward.
It has that real dill pickle flavor without tasting artificial or overly sour, which is exactly what you want when it’s the star of the drink.
They also make a Spicy Dill Pickle version, which is fantastic if you like a little heat.
When I make these for parties, I usually do half regular and half spicy, because there is always someone who wants that extra kick.
And trust me… the spicy ones disappear fast.
Why These Are Perfect for Game Day and Brunch
One thing I love about shooters like this is that they’re super low effort for hosting.
Instead of building full Bloody Mary bars with a million ingredients, you can just mix these up quickly and pass them out.
They’re also perfect because they’re:
• quick to make
• easy to batch
• fun and unexpected
• savory enough to pair with brunch food
And yes… people will absolutely ask for the recipe.
Let’s Talk Garnishes (Because This Is Where It Gets Fun)
You can absolutely keep it simple with a pickle spear and celery stalk, which already makes this drink feel like a proper Bloody Mary moment.
But if you’ve ever seen a Midwest Bloody Mary, you know the garnish game can get… intense.
We’re talking skewers loaded with things like:
- fried pickles
- little burgers
- chicken wings
- cubes of cheese
Honestly, once the skewer goes in the glass, all garnish rules are off.
And that’s part of the fun.
Why People Love These Pickle Mary Shooters
Every time I make these for a gathering, they’re one of those things where someone tries one… and then suddenly everyone wants one.
They’re:
- bold and savory
- super easy to make
- fun for game day
- perfect for pickle lovers
And if you’re someone who already loves Bloody Marys and pickles, this combo just makes sense.
