Notes

What is a Pickle Mary?

A Pickle Mary is a twist on the classic Bloody Mary that uses dill pickle vodka instead of traditional vodka. The pickle flavor adds a briny, savory kick that works perfectly with the tomato base of the cocktail.

What vodka should I use for a Pickle Mary?

For this recipe I recommend The Original Pickle Shot dill pickle vodka. It has a clean dill pickle flavor that blends beautifully with Bloody Mary mix. They also offer a Spicy Dill Pickle version if you want to add a little heat.

Can I make a spicy version?

Yes! You have two easy options:
• Use Spicy Dill Pickle vodka
• Add a few dashes of hot sauce to the drink
Both options give the shooter a nice kick without overpowering the pickle flavor.

Do I have to add Worcestershire sauce?

Not necessarily. Many Bloody Mary mixes already contain Worcestershire sauce, so it’s totally optional. If your mix tastes a little flat, adding a couple dashes can deepen the savory flavor.

What garnishes go well with a Pickle Mary?

Classic Bloody Mary garnishes work great here, including:
• pickle spears
• celery stalks
• olives
• dill pickle rimming salt
If you want to go full Midwest Bloody Mary mode, you can also add fun garnishes like fried pickle chips, mini burgers, chicken wings, or cheese cubes.

Can I batch these for a party?

Yes! These are perfect for batching. Simply scale the ingredients and mix everything in a pitcher over ice, then pour into glasses when ready to serve.

Are Pickle Mary Shooters good for brunch?

Absolutely. These shooters are savory, refreshing, and easy to serve, which makes them perfect for brunch gatherings, tailgates, and game day parties.
