The BEST Orange Chicken Crunch Bowl (Sweet & Crunchy)

Jump to Recipe

If your favorite takeout order and your mom’s potluck salad had a crunchy, chaotic glow-up… this would be it.

Crispy orange chicken.
Toasty sesame seeds.
Crunchy ramen noodles.
Sweet-tangy dressing.
Slivered almonds.
Fresh cabbage and carrots.

It’s bold. It’s sweet. It’s crunchy in a way that makes people go back for “just one more bite” five times.

And somehow? It works.

The Unexpected Bowl That Always Wins

This recipe feels slightly retro in the best way. It has that classic ramen crunch salad energy — you know the one — but with crispy orange chicken tossed in.

Fun fact: Ramen noodle salads became wildly popular in American kitchens in the 1960s and 70s when packaged ramen hit grocery stores. People realized those dry noodles, when toasted, turn into the most addictive crunchy topping.

We’re just giving it a modern main-character moment with InnovAsian Orange Chicken.

Let’s Talk About the Crunch Factor

This bowl is all about texture.

You toast:

  • Slivered almonds
  • Crunched dry ramen noodles (seasoning packets tossed)
  • Sesame seeds

At 350°F for 10–15 minutes until golden.

Toasting changes everything. It deepens flavor and gives you that nutty, slightly caramelized crunch that makes this bowl special.

Let it cool completely before mixing — this keeps everything crisp.

The Sweet-Tangy Dressing

The dressing is simple but powerful:

  • Sugar
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Oil
  • Rice vinegar

It’s sweet. It’s slightly sharp. It balances the richness of the orange chicken and the nuttiness of the toasted ingredients.

Important: Do not add the dressing until right before serving.

This is a crunch bowl. We protect the crunch at all costs.

How It All Comes Together

You combine:

  • Cooked orange chicken
  • Cole slaw mix (cabbage + carrots)
  • Toasted almonds, ramen, and sesame seeds
  • Chopped green onions

Then toss with the dressing right before serving.

That’s it.

It looks impressive. It tastes bold. It disappears fast.
