Homemade Crouton

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of bread about 12 ounces, cut into 3/4-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside.
  • In a large bowl, toss the bread chunks with olive oil until evenly coated. Sprinkle the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper over the top and gently mix until everything is well combined.
  • Spread the seasoned bread in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, turning the croutons halfway through to make sure they brown evenly on all sides. Keep a close eye on them, as the size of the cubes can affect cooking time.
  • Once golden and crispy, take them out of the oven and let them cool completely. Use right away or store in an airtight container for up to a week!
